Shazam Detailing provides commercial vehicle interior detailing and specialized sanitation across Nashville and Middle Tennessee: truck cabs and sleepers, vans, pool and shared vehicles, buses, and service trucks. Work covers deep cleaning, carpet and upholstery extraction, odor removal, and disinfection of high-touch surfaces. The crew is mobile and works at your terminal or yard, and Shazam Detailing has served commercial fleets since 2001, including FirstFleet.
Starts at $500
It is a different service from a car wash interior wipe. A commercial job assumes the vehicle is a workplace, that more than one person uses it, and that the surfaces have absorbed months or years of hands, food, sweat, smoke, spilled coffee, mud, and cargo dust.
The scope goes below the visible surface. Vacuuming picks up what is loose. Extraction pulls what has soaked into carpet fiber and seat foam. Degreasing removes the film on hard plastics that a dry wipe just moves around. Disinfection then treats the surfaces people actually touch, rather than misting the cab and calling it done.
A typical Shazam Detailing interior sanitation service includes:
Because the cab is the workplace. A driver spends more waking hours in that seat than most people spend at a desk, and handing them a vehicle with a stained seat, a sticky wheel, and someone else’s smell in the sleeper says something about how the company sees the job.
Drivers tend to take better care of vehicles that arrive clean, and a clean cab becomes a small but real recruiting point when a driver is comparing two carriers. The same logic applies to pool and shared vehicles: when nobody owns the vehicle, nobody cleans it, and the condition ratchets downward until it becomes a morale problem. A scheduled reset breaks that cycle.
More than most fleets account for. Two trucks with identical mileage and maintenance records do not bring the same number at auction or trade if one has a clean, odor-free interior and the other has stained seats, a burned headliner, and a smell.
Interiors also degrade permanently if neglected. Ground-in grit abrades carpet fiber and seat fabric with every entry and exit, spilled liquids that reach foam become permanent odor sources, and body oils break down vinyl and leather until they crack. All of it is cheap to prevent on a schedule and expensive to fix once done.
Frequency follows how many people use the vehicle and what they carry in on their boots. Here is the framework Shazam Detailing starts from, then adjusts to your operation.
| Vehicle type | Drivers per unit | Deep interior cadence | Priority scope | What drives it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Over-the-road tractor with sleeper | 1 to 2 | Quarterly | Sleeper, bunk area, upholstery extraction, odor | Long dwell time, living space, driver assignment changes |
| Day cab / regional tractor | 1 to 3 | Quarterly | Seats, floor, dash, high-touch points | Shift changes, road grime tracked in |
| Delivery van / box truck | 2 or more | Monthly to quarterly | Floor, seats, cargo area bulkhead, touch points | Constant in and out, cargo dust |
| Pool or shared company vehicle | Many | Monthly | Full sanitation and touch-point disinfection | No single owner, highest shared-use risk |
| Service / utility truck | 1 to 2 | Quarterly | Degreasing, floor, seats, tool residue | Grease, dirt, and jobsite debris |
| Passenger bus or shuttle | Many | Weekly to monthly | Seats, aisle, handrails, stanchions | Public ridership, health perception |
| Driver-change or turnover clean | New assignment | At handover | Full sanitation before reassignment | A driver should not inherit someone else’s cab |
Most fleets get the best return from a standing quarterly deep clean plus a full sanitation at every driver reassignment. There is no minimum amount of vehicles for our recurring program.
By finding and removing the source. Air fresheners and fogging alone are cosmetic, and the smell returns within days because the material producing it is still there.
The sequence is straightforward. Locate the source: spilled liquid in carpet padding, food under a seat rail, smoke residue on the headliner and glass, moisture from a leak, or mildew in a sleeper mattress area. Remove it physically, which usually means hot water extraction on soft surfaces and degreasing on hard ones. Only then does deodorizing have anything left to do.
Cigarette smoke is the hardest common case, because tar residue coats the headliner, the glass, and the inside of the ventilation ducts. Substantial improvement is achievable. A guarantee of complete removal from a cab that has been smoked in for five years is not something Shazam Detailing will promise, and any company that does is guessing.
Shazam Detailing performs deep cleaning, extraction, disinfection of touch surfaces, and odor treatment. That covers the overwhelming majority of fleet interior work: dirt, grease, food, smoke, mildew, sweat, and general wear.
True biohazard remediation is a different discipline. Blood, bodily fluids in volume, sharps, chemical spills, or contamination requiring regulated waste handling belongs with a licensed remediation contractor holding the right credentials and disposal chain. If a vehicle arrives in that condition, Shazam Detailing will say so and point you to the right specialist rather than take the job and hope. Once remediation is done, the vehicle can come back for the detail that returns it to service.
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration equipment rules address sleeper berths directly, including the requirement that they be maintained in a clean and sanitary condition. That is one more reason sleeper cleaning belongs on a schedule rather than in the “when someone complains” pile.
Shazam Detailing uses only the highest quality soaps, tools, and materials, and interior work is matched to the material: different chemistry for cloth than for vinyl, leather, rubber flooring, or hard plastics. An aggressive all-purpose cleaner on a leather seat or a headliner is how interiors get ruined by people who meant well.
Disinfection specifics matter to some fleets, particularly healthcare transport, food service, and passenger operations.
The process is simple: schedule the visit, the crew comes to your location, and the vehicle goes back to the driver clean. Shazam Detailing is mobile throughout roughly a 30 to 50 mile radius of Nashville.
Yes. Mobile service is the standard arrangement for fleet interior work, because sending a truck across town for an interior clean costs a driver, fuel, and a slot in the schedule. The crew comes to your yard or terminal and stages through units, which is why recurring on-site visits are the most economical way to run a program. Passenger compartments on buses, shuttles, and vans are covered on the same visit.
It depends on cab type, whether there is a sleeper, and how far the interior has gone. A quarterly clean on a well-kept day cab is a fraction of the work a sleeper needs after two untouched years. Time per unit is confirmed at quote so you can plan around routes.
That is one of the best uses of this service. A handover clean means the incoming driver gets a cab with no previous occupant’s odor, food residue, or grime on the touch points. It sets the standard for how the cab is expected to be kept and removes an early friction point in a new hire’s first week.
Extraction removes most of the moisture as it works, and airflow finishes the job. Interior work is timed so vehicles go back into service ready to use, not damp. If a unit has to run immediately after service, say so at scheduling and the scope can be adjusted for shorter dry times.
Surface mildew from moisture and humidity is common in Middle Tennessee and treats well once the moisture source is identified. Extensive mold growth into insulation, padding, or structure is a remediation job, not a detailing job, and Shazam Detailing will tell you which one you have rather than cleaning around a problem that will return.
