Why do equipment managers pay to clean a machine that works in dirt?
Because dirt on a machine costs money in ways that show up on a P&L. A caked machine sells for less. It hides leaks, so your techs find failures late instead of early. How do you degrease tracks, undercarriage and engine bays?
Degreasing is a chemistry and dwell problem, not a pressure problem. Heavy grease mixed with clay and rock does not blast off cleanly. It has to be broken down, given time to work, then removed.
On undercarriages, that means loosening and flushing packed material out of the track frame, sprocket pockets and roller area, then working the grease-bearing surfaces with degreaser and agitation. On engine bays the approach is deliberately more conservative. Equipment OEM service literature generally warns against putting concentrated high-pressure water near seals, bearings, wiring connectors, ECMs and sensors, so those areas are cleaned with controlled pressure, hand work and product rather than by pointing a wand at a wire loom. The goal is a bay a technician can read, not a bay full of water. Radiators, oil coolers and charge air coolers get their own attention, since fins packed with dust and oily film are a cooling problem long before they are an appearance problem.

Does clean equipment really sell for more?
